Mikey’s Rockin’ Mk2 Jetta

I will start by wishing a Happy and prosperous New Years to every AirSociety readers.

I’m pretty sure that I am not the only one that loves older generation Volkswagen when modded in a proper manner. The only thing that pops to my mind right now is : ‘So fresh and so clean … clean.

Mikey started his project with a rare Jetta coupe, something that we rarely see in good shape. I remember seeing it at H20 2010, near the 1552 booth, showing off them new rollers. For those who don’t know the RML SnowFlakes, here’s what Brad at Fifteen52 had to say about ’em :

What is RML? RML is our vision of classic OE wheel designs from the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s, but produced in more contemporary sizes. Simply put, when it comes to modern wheel design, RML wheels put the “plus” in OEM+

To make his wheel setup more aggressive, Mikey opted for 20mm rear spacers giving that extra poke to the rear wheels. If you ask me this car is the perfection definition of sexiness in the OEM+ category.

For those wishing to bag their Mk2’s, here’s his Air suspension. Note that the front isn’t notched yet but will be in the making this winter :

  • BagYard front and rear Bombers
  • Random manifold for the time being
  • 5 gallon tank
  • 2 x 400 Viairs
  • AVS 7 switch box
  • Old style Dakota digital gauge
